Dear STL Families,
We did it! Our unprecedented outdoor Mass was such a special gathering ~ thanks to our volunteers. Selflessly giving your time to make our community worship gathering a better and safer place for families to experience Christ is truly a blessing. Thank you so much! For those of you who would like an opportunity to serve with us, just let me know. Many hands make light work.
Speaking of opportunities to help, the children of the local Anza Elementary School Community (one of our Parish Outreach Ministry efforts), need us. This school qualifies as a Low-Income School. The socioeconomic status of their families has a profound effect on children’s education. They not only suffer from lack of resources at home, but their school must also scrape by on the minimum. If you want to help, please check out the attached flyer for details.
I'd like to send Thank You notes to both Fr. Jim Poulsen and Fr. Joe Masar for celebrating Mass with us this July. If you would like to share notes of appreciation, I will include them. Feel free to send them in an email reply and I'll pass your sentiments on to Fr. Jim Poulsen and Fr. Joe Masar.
I also spoke with Fr. Jim Rafferty, our guest priest for the month of August. He retired after serving the Catholic Diocese of San Diego for over forty faithful years. He has devoted his entire life to serving God’s people in many parishes. Please join me in welcoming Fr. Jim Rafferty to STL this weekend.
As the weekend Mass approaches, keep this in mind ~ "Just the act of being together to worship is somewhat an act of faith and an act of risk. We’re reminded of our humanity and the frailty of life.” Wear your face covering and keep your social-distance the entire time you're on STL's campus.
