“Safety isn’t expensive,
It's PRICELESS.”

Dear STL Families,

I believe it was F. Scott Fitzgerald who wrote, "Summer is only the unfulfilled promise of spring."  Calling this quote to mind back in May gave me hope in anticipation of the summer months of NO COVID.  Now here we are in Awwwgust! Joyfully though, I remain hopeful in God's promise to us (Jeremiah 29:11) ~ God tells us that He knows the plans He has for us. He doesn't plan to hurt us. He plans to give us hope and a good future. So I encourage you to hang in there with me!

Here is an abbreviated story that a close friend shared with me ~ The scene is God vs. Satan where Satan is bragging to God that during this COVID time, he's managed to shut down the churches so no one can worship God anymore. God replies, "Yeah, well my church is in everyone's home now more than ever before."

Ain't it the truth!  What's also true is that we're seeing more of you back at St. Luke's outdoor Mass on Sunday mornings (170 parishioners present). What a joy it is to celebrate as a faith community in person! Thank you for your selfless act of social-distancing in our large gathering and your kind consideration of others worshiping alongside you. I hope to see more and more of you join us soon.

As we move through August and September, there are a few key events to keep in mind. Look for details in future Flocknotes, bulletins, and on our parish website:
  • Anza School Supply Drive ~ August 30th deadline
  • Outreach Service with Fr. Joe's Village ~ clothes, electronics, toys, furnishings
Volunteer Teams Needed!
* Fr. Joe's Village Donation Drive
** Live-stream our weekly Saturday, 5:00 pm Mass; We need to relieve Evelyn Beale of this job so she can focus on her Middle School, High School & Young Adult Ministry responsibilities.
We will begin the registrations/sign-ups for the 2020-2021 Faith Formation Program very soon. Debbie, Evelyn, and Jenny will share details with you shortly.
They've been working diligently to offer creative, flexible, and practical means of connecting with your children/youth/families during the COVID period. We know these are unprecedented circumstances and we recognize your struggles with your children's public/parochial school schedules. We are committed to helping you find a balance as you juggle their faith and academic education. We are here to serve YOU.

With a very grateful heart,

Jane
Let's keep each other safe & healthy at
St. Luke:
Wear your face covering AT ALL TIMES.
Keep your socially-distanced space of 6 feet between each other.
