Happy June! It is that time of year to fill our Parish Pastoral Council Seats. We have two (2) vacancies. The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to work with the Parish Life Director in providing pastoral guidance to the parish, overseeing all pastoral aspects of parish life, and oriented toward fulfilling the mission for which Christ established the Church. Although the council is advisory, it is also consultative and collaborative.
A properly-composed council of lay members will best allow the voice of the Holy Spirit to guide our parish. Candidates for appointment to the Council may be identified by existing members, by nomination from the parish at large, or by self-nomination. Please help us by nominating someone whom you believe fulfills the criteria described below:
- Members must be registered in the parish for at least three years
- Be fully initiated Catholics living in conformity with the precepts of Canon Law
- Should have an appropriate concept of parish life
- Should have demonstrated the ability to place concern for the total parish above individual or special interest group concerns
- Should have demonstrated the ability to work with others in a consultative and collaborative manner
- Should be willing to work within a formal consensus process
- Should have demonstrated a desire to be guided by God's will rather than their own desires
