Dear Friends and Families,
When in everyday life we want things to go well, we prepare, we plan and we organize. We do our part to make things happen as expected.
During this month we celebrate and remember again the central truth on which our faith is based: the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. To remember is to revive, to immerse oneself again in these mysteries of faith that accompany us throughout our lives. The mystery of God the Father, Creator, becomes visible. History becomes flesh in Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus shows us the way to become one with God, to open ourselves to experience His love, to become intimate with Him and to call Him "Abba" (Daddy). Jesus shows us that death does not have the last word and that we are destined for eternal life, in the place that the Father has prepared for everyone since the creation of the world.
To revive these memories, the Church, the community of believers, invites us to celebrate Lent. These forty days of preparation allow us to be affected by the memory of what happened: the death and resurrection of Jesus. We prepare our physical body - cleansing it through fasting. By aligning our bodies with our spirit through silence and prayer, we create connections through service and love...This process prepares us to internally feel and taste the love that is expressed in these celebrations. From this sacred contact, our desire to announce what we have felt, heard, touched and seen is born.
We wish you a blessed Easter, and in doing so, we announce the Good News of life, reconciliation, peace and justice for our families and especially for our Ukrainian and Russian brothers.
